Why 'Baby' is Not an Appropriate Appellation of Endearment: A Treatise

Bro. Immanuel G

My first treatise was on women eating men's money. I can say it was well received. I was inundated with calls, texts and emails from worried bachelors who had also been suffering from eating disorders wherein women ate their money instead of them. I shall address that issue with solutions after I conclude further research.

I have observed that several grown people are in the habit of calling their loved ones "baby"/"babe" and other infantile derivatives. I too was once a partaker of such tomfoolery-shamefully. Having seen the light, I have decided to take my time to write this treatise to open the eyes of the ignorant many.

It is a retrogressive term is a to use for an adult

Why do you get offended when someone says you are behaving like a baby? Then ask yourself why you should be pleased when someone calls you a baby. If logic triumphs when you ask yourself the aforementioned questions, you'll agree with me that baby is a retrogressive term and should not be worn like a badge of honour.

It is impersonation of real babies

Think of it. How would you feel when you are a baby and a grown ass person (probably your mum or dad) keeps answering to your unique identifier as an infant? Good, then stop calling your husband or wife baby and confusing the poor child. Babies being innocent could assume that they are contemporaries with their parents.

Your baby will call you baby too

Your child's first words will be "baby", and he'll use it to address you. See evidence attached.

Post Script
I know that several people will be angry with me. The truth usually receives such reactions. Some people will now go ahead to call me 'baby'. For such people I leave you with this saying: "Truth is an iron horse that does not weary".

PPS:
Stay tuned for my next treatise tentatively titled "My Ovaries".

Falling: Of Risks and Losses

Credit: Jerry X Based on true life events The events described herein happened to a bosom friend of mine. It is with his sad commission that I share this story. He believes that by some stroke of good fortune, this story could be a way out of his sadness. This the story of my beloved friend whom I shall not name to protect his identity. My friend met this lady at a professional engagement about this time last year. In his words “I caught sight of her when she stood up to introduce herself. She just stood out from the crowd. She was not just beautiful but she spoke intelligently. I knew if I did not get her number, I'd have fallen hand”. He further confided that I served as extra motivation. That he knew that if he let her go, I'd not tolerate any made up stories. While I feel humbled, I must clarify that I do not push my friends to go a-philandering. I just detest sloppiness, timidity and inferiority complex. So when my friend brought news of his new acqu...

God's grace, subway surfers: what's the connection?

I was in church yesterday for Bible study and it was so awesome I had to share. We studied God's grace which in Greek is Charis. Let me digress. I am a big fan of the game subway surfers and I have a score of about 255k to show for the countless hours I have put into the game. When I first launched the game a friend told me his highest score was about 80k, he further told me that he'd seen folks with scores in millions. My ultimate goal then became having a score of at least 300k. It seemed like a tall order. However with time I realised that there were boosts (like surfboards, score boosters, magnets and power ups) and aids to help me achieve my goal. The more I ran, the more boosts I gathered,  the easier the game became and the higher my scores climbed. Now this post ain't entirely about subway surfers. Its also about God's grace. God's grace to us can be defined as the unmerited favor and support God bequeathed upon us. Titus 2:11,12 I paraphrase: The grace ...

Ethereal Music: My Top 7

I feel am in Ether. What's Ether? Actually the question should be "where is Ether?" It a place deep airy place in my mind that I retreat into when I meditate and have those out of the world floaty floaty thoughts. Here are my Top 7 song for the last week in random order. 1. Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek This accapella song just gets to me in a very special way, most especially the part she sings "watcha say". Like am so much into a song with no beats! How amazing. Unfortunately, all her other songs don't appeal to me. 2. Maazid feat. Joy - Merry Go Round I never get tired of this song, it has been my consolation when my ship sail through dire straights. The fact that Maazid is in my school just makes the song closer to my situation. I don't know the dude but he sure thinks like me. Sorry this song doesn't have an album art. 3. High Society - Devil Pheeww, this song by them Sho Baraka, Swoope and crew has repeatedly been on repeat. I ...
