Ethereal Music: My Top 7

I feel am in Ether. What's Ether? Actually the question should be "where is Ether?" It a place deep airy place in my mind that I retreat into when I meditate and have those out of the world floaty floaty thoughts. Here are my Top 7 song for the last week in random order.

1. Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek
This accapella song just gets to me in a very special way, most especially the part she sings "watcha say". Like am so much into a song with no beats! How amazing. Unfortunately, all her other songs don't appeal to me.

2. Maazid feat. Joy - Merry Go Round
I never get tired of this song, it has been my consolation when my ship sail through dire straights. The fact that Maazid is in my school just makes the song closer to my situation. I don't know the dude but he sure thinks like me. Sorry this song doesn't have an album art.

3. High Society - Devil
Pheeww, this song by them Sho Baraka, Swoope and crew has repeatedly been on repeat. I must confess most of what they say is lost on me but each line of the song carries with it a high degree of potency and builds my spirit. This song drives me to try and write my own lines that carry weight.

4. Von Trap feat. Maazid - Fly Away
This song relates to almost everything I want. Wait till you download it.Check it here!

5. Owl City - I'll Meet You There
This is the height of my Ethereal taste for music. This song is a song that has never left my playlist. It is a happy song that makes me happy. God bless vintage Owl City. I always think I'll play this song when making my marriage proposal

6. Owl City - Cave In

I play this song when I feel I need to articulate my feelings. Especially at night, this song just gets me inspired. As in ehn real inspiration.

7. Da'Truth - J.I.F.E (Jesus Is For Everybody)
This song simply announces that Jesus Is For Everybody and says why.

Audu and the Interesting Tale of 12 Mudus of Rice

The events detailed below were as told to me by Audu. I met Audu when I boarded his bus from Nasarawa Eggon to Lafia sometime this year. "God is always on the side of the Righteous" Audu declared as he shifted gears. "Let me give you a story to buttress my point" he added. I knew an interesting story was about to be spilled so I leaned back on my seat and turned my face towards him. A certain woman in Lafia had given Audu a bag containing rice to deliver to her sister in Nasarawa Eggon. She had paid him and had given Audu her sister's phone number so he could call when he arrived at Nasarawa Eggon. The journey between Nasarawa Eggon and Lafia is short. At most it takes 20 minutes, Reckless drivers do the trip in 12.  Upon arrival, Audu called the recipient and then arranged to meet. He then proceeded to get some rest, the recipient of the rice was going to come and meet him as he rested from his labors. Not long afterward a woman came and asked for the rice that...

The Tale of Roasted Maize and Sour Olives

The tale recounted is based on true events Some weeks back, on Nigeria’s Independence Day to be precise, I planned to spend the whole day indoors. That I did, I spent the day watching movies and lazying in bed. It turned out to be a quiet day all through, nothing spectacular until I received a call. An Uncle* of mine who lived in the same compound with us called me on phone and said I should meet him on his side of the house. It was about 4 pm so I trudged to his apartment, expecting to be sent on an errand. When I got there, he simply gave me a cob of roasted Maize and some Olives and that was that. It was very funny, almost awkward. I carried this funny look on my face that made his wife laugh at the situation. He just encouraged me to give it a try. I took huge bite off the cob, shaving off a large swathe of roasted Maize seeds from the cob, and then went for the Olives which turned out to be sour. Dang! The sensation is beyond description, especially when the Olive...

Opportune Time

I’ve always been fascinated by the concepts of chronos and kairos . Chronos refers to time that passes in a sequential, linear manner, while kairos is the opportune moment for something to happen. Many speakers and writers have shared a lot about this topic, and I’ve learned so much from them. From my personal experience, I’ve seen how missing these opportune moments can have a serious impact. The lessons I’ve learned are: You may never know when the opportune moment will come, so prepare yourself well. The opportune moment often comes in disguise, so always be on your best behaviour. Don’t make decisions lightly or carelessly. If you miss the moment once, learn from it and don’t repeat the same mistake. In conclusion, kairos can change the course of your life, but only if you’re ready for it. Time waits for no one, and the opportunities we’re given don’t always announce themselves. So, stay alert, work hard, and be prepared to seize that moment when it comes. Take action toda...
